General Rules & Regulations
1. Contest is open to Anime-Beta members only. Guests, referrals and lurkers should be registered as a Beta Member, BEFORE the artwork submission start date of November 11th in order to participate.
2. Unless otherwise noted in the category descriptions, all entries submitted to this contest must be Production/Rilezu cels or sketches(genga or douga). The emphasis of this event is on cels but sketches may be submitted into any applicable category(with the exception of Backgrounds). Rilezu may be entered into ANY applicable category with the exception of Best Sketch, Best Hanken, and Best Background. Reproduction cels are NOT allowed. Only one of a kind artwork may be submitted in this contest. If a cel is submitted, its matching sketch may NOT be submitted into ANY other category.
3. Artwork that has won an award in previous Beta Award contests may not be submitted in ANY category this year.
4. Each submission must be owned by the member submitting it. Cel images taken from other galleries, websites or collections are prohibited. Cels owned by a member but not on display in their gallery, are acceptable.
5. Cels should be submitted "AS IS," with no graphically enhanced additions/ subtractions or computer editing to improve/alter the image itself. Custom and copy backgrounds to accompany each submission are acceptable. The cropping of images to avoid showing paint edges is also acceptable. Please refrain from using watermarks on cels. Rubberslug blocks all attempts to steal images, so your cels are safe.
6. A maximum of 25 entries will be accepted per category, with a minimum of 3. If more than 25 cels are submitted, only the first twenty-five cels received will be voted on. If fewer than 3 cels are submitted to a category, that category will not be eligible for voting. If a category is over-subscribed early on in the submission process, the affected person/people will be notified so they can submit a new cel to a different category. It's advised that members have one or two reserve choices prepared in case this occurs. Progress on the number of submissions to each section will be published on the Anime Beta Forum for reference purposes.
7. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify images they believe do not fit into the category in which they were submitted. If an image is disqualified, the owner will be notified and given a chance to make a new entry.
8. The popularity of a series or the lack of knowledge of an obscure series should not play into voting. Each member must vote for the cel that they believe best meets the criteria laid out for it.
9. The monetary value of a cel or its scarcity should not influence the final judging.
10. Everyone who submits artwork into this contest MUST vote.
11. Beta members who don't wish to submit any artwork into the event may still vote if they choose. Full voting terms can be seen below.
12. Voting in the Hentai category is NOT mandatory if such material offends you.
13. Once voting is complete, the artwork from each category that received the most votes will be declared the winner. A runner-up rosette will be awarded for second place. Winners will be awarded with logos to proudly display in their cel galleries.
Submission Rules & Procedure
1. Each member can nominate up to 5 cels/sketches from their respective collection in total. This means that members can participate in up to 5 categories of the 20 available. Make 1 submission per category of your choice; the same artwork cannot be entered into multiple categories. This includes sequence-mates. If you have a sequence of artwork, please choose the one you like best and submit it to one category only.
2. Cel images taken from other galleries or websites are not allowed. Cels owned by a member, but not shown in their gallery, are acceptable.
3. All entries must be made via email attachment. Do not submit links to cels or galleries, for they will not be accepted.
4. All images must be in JPEG or GIF file format, between 300-600 pixels in width and depth, no more- even if it's a pan or oversized piece.
5. Maximum file size of each image must be 100kb or less.
6. Rename each image as your Beta username followed by an underscore then the relevant category it's being entered into. For example: myname_sadness.jpg, myname_hanken.jpg, myname_masculine.gif, myname_background.gif If your name includes eccentric characters that you can't use when re-naming the file, just use the simplest text form or the name you're known as on Anime Beta ;)
Sending the Submission
Emails should be set out in the example below:
Email Subject: Submission [followed by your full Beta member name, without brackets]
Include the respective images in attachment.
No message in the body of the email is necessary, not even a bribe to sweeten the voting- that's dealt with by another department :P
The email address you use to submit your entry and vote will be the one we shall use to contact you if need be. If you'd prefer replies to be made to a different address, please mention that in the body of the email.
Please send only 1 email with your category submissions, not 1 email for each image.
If you're unable to send your submission during the designated 8 day period (November 11th - Nov 18th) because you're on holiday or have special circumstances, please advise me before hand (via the email address below) and I can accept an early submission.
Send submissions to loweryk1@yahoo.com
Voting Procedure
The webpage with all the entries will be made available for public viewing on Saturday November 25th, the first day of the voting. Voting Ends on December 4th.
Please make sure you view each piece of artwork before choosing a favourite. Once you have a favourite in mind from each category, you're ready to cast your votes!
Each artwork in every category will be assigned a number (1, 2, 3, etc). Use this number to indicate the item you are voting for.
Send your completed ballot to loweryk1@yahoo.com . Remember to include your username in the subject heading.
All voters MUST vote in EVERY category- the Hentai category is the only exception.
Check your votes before sending them, make sure you've selected the correct artwork for the corresponding category- you are allowed 1 vote and that is all.
Failure to meet these requirements will result in your vote not being counted.
